Amelia Marie Myers

Amelia Marie Myers, 12, of Rockton, IL, passed away on January 23, 2026, with her loving family by her side from complications of Metachromatic leukodystrophy. She was born on May 29, 2013, the daughter of Aaron and Krystle (Urizar) Myers. 

Amelia used her last ability to speak to go to Washington D.C. to advocate for newborn screenings and access to better healthcare for early diagnosis for others with her condition. She was a selfless hero and passionate about advocating for others. 

Amelia was a sassy firecracker, even in the worst moments of her condition she remained strong and always had a smile on her face. She loved swimming, riding her scooter, swings, coloring, going on many adventures; including her bucket list trip to Disney to meet Princess Tiana. She loved going to the beach, crafting, ice cream and had a deep love for animals. If you ever asked her what her favorite color was, she would always say “Pink, Purple, and Rainbow!”. She will be missed very much by her adoring family. 

Survivors include her parents; Aaron and Krystle Myers, her brothers; Kayden and Emerson Myers, maternal grandparents; Margaret and Angelo Urizar, paternal grandmother; Sharon Myers, uncle; Steven Urizar, aunts; Jori Eidem, Kelly Flaherty, her dogs; Honey and Otis. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather; William Myers. 

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Beloit Regional Hospice for the love and care they gave Amelia. They are forever grateful. 

Guests are asked to please wear purple at services for Amelia. 

A memorial service will take place at BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME- 1000 E Inman Pkwy, Beloit, on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 3:00PM.
